100% Argon or Flexcore

I have to weld a pro dumbbell, it’s just a washer on the end of a solid steel handle that holds 3 plates on one of the sides. I just noticed I am out of 75/25 mig gas but have 100% argon, should I use the straight argon or use flux core?

Haha! I was going to say, getting gas is not an option for a few days so just wanted some experts advice. I’m just an old guy that fixes stuff for the neighborhood.

Pure argon will give you a tall bead with little penetration

I used a flux core welder last weekend on some 6mm steel and I was surprised at how good it was.
If you need it done now, and you have some flux core wire, I'd give it a go.

I'd just use the fluxcore,common sense will tell you if your weld is good enough,how about you post a photo up after and lets us all judge,sorry see,lol,if its fine or not

Yup, many drive the 100 miles north from Pizzaborg (heck it's easier to spell it this way...)
to come for a day at the peninsula.

My parents were from Beaver falls.

You wouldn't want it failing. Dropping a weight onto someone's foot would spoil their day.

You may want to revisit including the P&p in the price if sending to PA USA
Does look really neat though and very good for the cost.
