Yep unfortunately, also 1.6/16, 2.0/14, 2.5/12, 3.25/10, 4.00/8, 5.00/6, 6.00/4, or at least that is the way the "rounding" went.

Its still natural to me to refer to sheet by gauge, sometimes it confuses the suppliers when I order by phone especially the younger ones who have never learned it.

I did this recently and it got me in big "trouble", the suppliers guy had no clue!

I also always refer to it by guage, thats how the sheet metal shop i use work to,
but then when i use Brundels sometimes for sheet i have to spec it as 1.2mm or 1.5mm for example.
