1/4" Torque Wrench up to 20Nm; Norbar - alternatives?

I've got a 20nm Norbar .....used to use it on a YZ250F engine.
It's very nice and use it for some other small stuff now.

I'm curious. What do you have on a bicycle that needs a torque wrench? Most things on my bike are quick release. Bike always had a multifunction flat spanner or a pot metal dumbbell spanner which fitted everything. When did it go hi tech torque?

As soon as they got made out of fantastic plastic ,,,, ie carbon fibre.

Stems are probably most likely to come to grief if not careful

I do but the wheeler wrenches are a lot of money for something I might use 3 or 4 times a year

4 to 31Nm 3/8” drive, was used on IBM mainframes.

There's also the Teng 1492AG-E which even Amazon sell for about half the price of either Norbar...

I bought one of them ^^^^^^^^ for use on the torx and etorx in my BMW's engine bay after discussion on here six months ago. I have not broken it or any of the fixings on my car yet my only comment would be that the 'click' is not that loud in comparison with my two 1/2 inch torque wrenches which are Norbar and Halfords.

I have a Teng 3/8, really like it. Has a built in angle setter too. FFX for mine though check Amazon too.

Ive seen a friend go through about six 1/2 ratchets in two years , granted they were used not looked at . but as you say many like them , I jut think they are priced higher than their value.
Many will say the same about snap on and bahco etc Draper Expert would get a higher rating in my eyes , in fact , you could do a lot worse than draper expert in most areas.

Thinking about it I really dislike their plastic ratchets, they were the kind of tool I used find abandoned down pits or out in the yard years ago as an apprentice. Maybe it was just the disappointment of finding a free tool that was in fact knackered, but I’ve had a (perhaps irrational) dislike of them ever since....

Nothing wrong with Teng, but I do prefer my Norbar more than my Teng torque wrenches.

As an aside, Teng make some pretty indestructible sockets!

Britool old click type are first class but 1/4 drive is very rare we have several but not seen a 1/4 one for a long time.

I’ve just bought an old school Britool torque wrench 3/8" AVT600A. It covers more of what I need than the 1/2"

I bought a 1/4" frictionless DVTR100 in 94 to service and build Pace RC30/35 MTB forks. I don't think its been used in 20yrs. 1/2" EVT1200A, and a moosive 3/4" HVT5000
