As the long winded title states. I've just started welding (first time on sat...pretty pleased!) currently practicing with the flux wire that came with the welder to get the basic technique and learn the welder, wire speed, amps e.t.c. e.t.c. but will deffo go gas as the spatter from flux wire is too much.
What I need to know is this, would argoshield be my best option considering the thickness of material? I've seen lots of debates on here but no deffinate answers (tho I realise some works for some people when it doesnt for others). May also be doing some car bodywork if my dad keeps his mk2 cortina (using 0.6 wire).
Also I know of two main BOC depot's close to me in sussex, one in brighton(shoreham) and one in burgess hill (bh being closer) but reading some threads on here they are damn expensive as gas suppliers go. Can anyone advise of anyone cheaper? I wont be needing loads of gas, and weighing up the cost of big bottle refils to small disposables there probably would be too much difference in price (unless of course the cortina project gets off the ground).
Sorry for the essay!
