If it was me, I would consider either a Parweld XT212 or R-tech 210.
Also get a proper AC/DC tig only machine.
Mig is easy compared to Tig so your daughter will be better off spending her time on learning Tig as there is way more variables to pick up.
If you want to learn Mig, get a used...
You sound like someone who has never tried ABS on a motorcycle and is just willing to go along with the naysayers.
I have ABS on my KTM 790 Duke and I can’t fault it. The system won’t kick in unless you are really braking hard almost like deliberately trying to lock the front up. Even better...
Oh yes, I remember Martin BangeMann alright... Tried to get motorcycles banned altogether but he couldn’t get the support he needed. The same with the wide fairing for legs, and restricted power but again he didn’t succeed.
You mean the ABS linked system? I think you’re confusing it with the Honda linked system which was ridiculed by nearly every Motorcycle Journalists when they tested it but hey don’t that stop you do a bit of EU bashing...
£2.6m is not a lot in the scheme of things for a company such as Forgemasters. Most likely it saddled with debt it was struggling to service and the government had no choice but to take ownership.
Hope the Tories won’t milk it for political gains...
What size cups have you got?
Are you using gas lens or collet body?
Smaller cup size will help get the torch closer to where you want to weld. When you increase your tungsten stick out, up the gas flow to compensate.
A photo can only show certain things to an extent. Would you mind showing us what settings you used and the thickness of the box section you welded on?
To me, it's a little on the cold side, and I have a suspicion that the torch was dragged instead of pushed because of the bead appearance...
Hire in a Fume extractor + ducting set up. This will be suffice for any concerns regarding fumes and atmosphere for the worker in confined space.
A hand held gas detection device will be needed as well.
I would add a "earth" wire connection from the motor/gearbox to the bench. I've seen a diy positioner that would turn a little every time the torch button was pressed even though the positioner wasn't turned on. Adding an earth connection stopped that.
Sip sales representative bought one in for a try out. Welds Ali alright but get this!!!...
Down slope and crater fill is only available on DC!!! Can't have it on AC so only way to get a down slope is to use a pedal.
I thought I was in the wrong until We had a look at the manual and in there it...
My bad. What I should have mentioned earlier is what you have is an oxygen regulator.
Can do the job but won't be perfect if you're looking for a precise measurement. So.....
Best to get a regulator that shows litres per min on the flow dial.
The regulator in your picture does tell you what the flow rate is, the right hand dial will tell you.
The left hand dial tells you how much capacity there is left in the bottle.
Make time to read this manual from Miller. Lots of useful information and guidelines that I'm sure can help you.
