16 years later, brown and glegg have been bought by Alexander's who have a depot in bathgate and Stirling (I think). No depot on sighthill any more. Still the best in my opinion, great service and good price.
Things that have gone wrong with my 08 rwd: egr valve failed multiple times, single leaf rear suspensions snapped, power steering return line fails where it is clipped to the body, injector seals leaking, thermostat housing fails, then all the normal stuff like ball joints blah blah blah.

I have done what hopefuldave suggests a few times with great success. I now have three phase so there is at least one spare single to three phase inverter kicking around if it's of interest. Think it's around 7kW.
Cylinder seal is quiet difficult to check though isn't it without taking it apart? Would you put the ram at its endstop and check for bypass flow on the non pressurised side? Any valve jammed open or leaking would behave as described - more revs equals more flow, equals more pressure drop across...
Use an inline test port from e.g hydrotechnik or yes as you say stick a gauge in where the white plug is. Get a ~400Bar gauge, useful for most machines. Wild guess - is the lift function the right most spool? Looks like it has a relief valve. Check that is not jammed open. Anothe method would to...
Thanks for checking. I think they sell mostly King gear. I need to make a door like the one you are doing, and hoping to find a cheaper supplier of the bits than brundel. Cheers
Does anyone on here do Loler testing for a living, in a company or as a one man band? Is it a decent earner? I'm wondering if it's worth adding to services offered.
Thanks

Are there some fundamental differences that mean these cannot be easily converted for use with...
You should assume indefinitely. To be safe they should be discharged. You can do that with by shorting the terminals. My preferred method is with a resistor held in insulated pliers, so there is no huge spark. Please be careful.
Ok. First of all as others have said be extremely cautious, the voltages present are very dangerous. Things like heat sinks can be live. Personally I would start from the AC input. I cant see it in the photos so suspect it might be round the other side. You could eliminate daft things like...
If you are keen, take the lid of and send some pictures. Then we can advise where to (extremely carefully) connect your meter. Otherwise yeah call IFL.
