Still no word on the datasheet, I will chase tomorrow. I have more of this primer to use so I want to get it right.
Do we think I need to strip it and do it again? It is just the chassis and will be covered in upol raptor (my choice for now) but will there be issues with the primer sticking?
I am back talking to RacingColour this morning. The first thing I asked was the ratio and gun setup, I was told 1.2 min this time and not 1.4 which doesn't seem right! he repeated there is no need for thinners. After asking twice for the datasheet they are looking for it and will email it later...
Thanks for the reply.
The info from the live chat on the site, 1.4 and a 20% mix, and the temp was around 16-20 degrees. The pressure was checked with the trigger pulled by the regulator at the gun end.
The compressor is 100L...
OK so long story short I am restoring an old beetle as a project, it is a steep learning curve and I know I will mess up along the way but the aim is to learn.
So after months of working on the chassis, I decided to do the primer. I choose a 2k epoxy primer after reading up and time on youtube...
Thanks, I tried that and there is a huge difference.
I have ordered 2 lines to test, both shorter in length at 10m (15m was more than enough) one with a 10mm bore and one with a 13mm bore.
It is this one, 15m, 15bar, Inner tube 8 mm / Outer tube 13 mm

I will do the same test with the other lines I have.
I just did a test by filling the tank and opening the regulator up, this showed 115 at the compressor and the same on the regulator at the tool end. When running the tool it drops to 60 psi.
Hi,
So I have a 100L compressor (details below) and the Clarke 3" cut off tool, the tool spins but when trying to cut it just stops spinning.
HIGH PERFORMANCE: its 2200W motor, 8 bar / 116psi pressure and 356L / minute airflow make this air compressor the perfect choice for all hobby and...
It has been quite the learning curve and there is still a lot to do but here is the progress so far.
I cut out the bad sections plus extra to be sure the metal was good, the cuts were stagged so I had some overlap between the top and the bottom sections. The pattern parts were not perfect but...
A very good point, many places here are not open on weekends which is when I can find some time to do any work so I think I will have to make it a rule to ensure I have enough gas for the weekend ahead.
Perfect, there is one in Malaga which is not far at all. Thanks for that.
Sorry for the late reply. I spent a little bit more and purchased the Clarke 151TE which after some playing around I am very happy with but I am still using the disposable bottle. Before I go off and purchase a regulator what should I look for to go from disposable to refillable, I know I need a...
Yer you are right there, I looked last weekend and have cut back quite a fair way past the rusted steel to be sure. Both the frame head bottom and hat are on the list. At this point, I am still undecided if I should replace the entire bottom as that looks to be a real pain and is it good shape...
Hi all,
So I am looking to purchase a MIG welder that will be used to restore a classic car. I have done a fair amount of research but still a little stuck.
The main obstacles to overcome are:
1) I live in Spain so not all brands/models are available, other than shipping from the UK and...
