Thanks again guys.
@eddie49 thank you - the 4mm hose goes to the torch. It was a Sealey replacement torch that i fitted last weekend.
I like both of your ideas regarding the connection method however i just need to make sure im on the same page. So, if i were to purchase your second regulator...
Hi all, Thanks for the replys!
Even though its just for one project, there as quite a lot of welding that i'll need to do. i'd like to get better at welding for future projects too.
@eddie49 Thanks for the links! Very useful, ill take a look at them now!
I will need both the regulator and also...
Hi,
I'm a first time welder and i will be using it on an MGB restoration. I did not get the ultra as they didn't have any. I will look online for a regulator. Do you know whether it matters about the mounting of it? Because i know a lot of bottles have the adaptor on the top and others (like...
Hi Guys,
I got myself one of the hobbyweld gas bottles the other day but am yet to get the adaptors and reg to fit it to my Mightymig 130xt. Do you suggest that i go with the Hobbyweld reg and adaptor or are there other options online that are cheaper/better/easier?
Cheers!
Thank you! :) I tried with a higher power on the same type of weld but it didnt seem to like it. I think I need to focus on wire speed and pattern.
Here's some on the same steel (1mm) but not a butt weld. I refined the wire speed and interestingly this was on power 1. Felt a lot better. Wire...
Another go today on some 1mm. Power 2 and wire speed 3. I think maybe it was a little too cold? However it seems very strong, I'll try again with the next power setting.

Thanks All,
I am going to attempt to fix my current MightyMig130xt MKII. I just purchased a new replacement torch for it, however, i just had a thought as to whether this welder is too high power for the jobs i need to do. As mentioned it will be used for panel repairs so but welding some 0.8mm...
Awesome! Glad to hear that there's some other MGB owners on here. Once I start welding (my next job, sills are completely off the passenger side) i'll get a post setup in the project thread. :) I have been looking every day for weeks for second hand welders in my area (Ebay, Facebook market...
Hi Guys,
I hate to ask the age old question of 'WhAt WelDeR ShoUld i gEt' but i'm having a bit of a hard time figuring out which welder would best suit my needs. I will only use it for welding body panels, mainly puddle welding to replace spot-welds, and the occasional seams where necessary. I...
