As a follow up to this I took my welder to a welding repair shop in Kent that worked on boc murex stuff and they could not tell me what was wrong they basically said parts aren't available and wasn't worth repairing
But they did have brand new jassicks for sale!!
I sent it up to technical arc in...
After looking at the wiring diagram I can see there are 4 diodes built into the AC DC change over switch
I'm wondering if one of the diodes has gone in the switch?
If this were the case then would the HF still work and the gas solenoid on the AC setting ?
Cheers
Hi Pat
We've actually met and spoken before I( but not about welders) I'm a British motorcycle owners club Essex Member
I have got access to an AC plant at work, but there's nothing like having full facilities in your own garage
Cheers baz
Ok I definitely do not have a sound knowledge of electronics, one thing I have noticed is I did take a look inside the welder at the panel and at the AC DC change over switch
And since removing the control knobs from the front, the two position AC DC switch now turns like a rotary switch!
I'm...
One more thing to add is that when I switch to AC I get no power at the gun at all
The high frequency runs fine when I press the button but it won't kick in even if you try to scratch start it
Cheers
Hi new to the forum so it's a bit of a cheek because I'm straight away asking for advice
Recently my boc murex 161 transtig has stopped working on the AC
The DC is fine
When switching to AC there's practically nothing
Does anyone know what I should check?
Thanks in advance regards baz
