I'm sure that if you dig into the regulations/legislation, there will be exemptions for training purposes.
Plus anything done by a trainee should be examined and/or supervised by a competent person.
Competent is standard legal wording, but the usual interpretation is somebody who is suitably trained with relevant qualifications.
When I done a crane operators course, the instructor had a discussion about it.
IIRC the reason the law doesn't specify what competent is, is who then trains the...
I've found helicoils are generally fine on something that doesn't get dismantled lots, and where there is enough material left to cut a proper thread for the helicoil i.e. the original hole isn't that worn the helicoil tap only cuts a partial thread.
Not really fixed, but rebuilt the brake calipers on my short travel full sus mountainbike today.
Stripped, dumped in ultrasonic cleaner for 5 minutes, blown out with compressed air, sat in front of the diesel heater for 10 minutes, then rebuilt with new seals and stainless pistons.
Should be...
As has been said, the issue with most caravan setups is the charger is a pretty basic fixed voltage thing.
Leave it powered too long, and it'll likely boil the battery dry.
Combine that with most caravans will also get left unpowered for months, and the battery also gets overdischarged...
Could be a multitude of things.
Provided there's gas in it, next thing would be a scan to see what fault codes are stored, then a datalist check to see if the compressor is being commanded.
Not sure if it was the C4, but they definitely did the Cactus with the plastic panels.
The irony was in true PSA style, the panels were easily damaged/knocked off, and cost more to replace than a few dings and paint chips.
If it's a basic charger, and been left powered for an extended period, it's likely overcharged and damaged the battery.
Or if the battery has gone flat for an extended period, then a failed battery will heat up when charged.
Only way to really tell, is to measure the voltage when it's charging.
Alibaba and AliExpress are the same company, however AliExpress is predominantly a marketplace for consumers where you can buy products immediately, whereas Alibaba is a more of a showcase site that puts you in contact with companies, more like B2B, with all transactions involving a conversation...
I was going to suggest what DAPHH did.
When we had issues with the forklift at a previous employer, Junchenriech service guy referred us to a forklift battery specialist. They came and tested it, reported on the overall condition, and found two bad cells. Cost wasn't that bad from what I...
That is pretty common for insurance.
I've driven to France twice, and both times I've had to pay extra for comprehensive cover while in Europe.
Also for breakdown cover, check that it includes guaranteed repatriation, otherwise if the recovery costs exceeds the value of the vehicle, they might...
The axle number would have been a little alloy plate rivetted (later Merc started gluing them on) onto the casing, so it might not be there.
That number in your photo looks like the casting number for the diff housing.
I should have mentioned that those torque settings might only tell part of...
From what I can see -
If it's a 741.130/131 or 741.5 rear axle, it uses a double nut set up, with inner torqued to 300Nm and then the outer to 250Nm
If it's a 741.407/8/9, it's a single nut inboard of the hub bearing onto the halfshaft that goes to 500Nm
If it's a 741.980 axle, it's a single hub...
In terms of license requirements, it's based on plated weights.
Before everybody was granted +E, and if you didn't have +E, you had to ensure the combined max plated train weight didn't exceed 3500kg, or the max trailer weight didn't exceed 750kg.
However, in terms of vehicle towing capability...
Max towing weight could be over 2000kg, however I don't think it is for that age of Vivaro.
The 1.6 isn't that powerful an engine, and it's not a vehicle I'd personally choose for towing, unless you like doing clutches.
I guess the benefit of using a basket, is you could just give it a shake to change the points of contact?
From my understanding, the plating isn't an insulator (unlike anodising), so you don't have to worry too much about losing conduction.
Hydro = relating to fluids/hydraulics i.e. a Hydrometer measures the density of fluids
Hygro = relating to moisture i.e. a Hygrometer measure the amount of moisture in a gas
And to get the full geek on, both originate from Greek, with Hydro meaning water, and Hygro meaning wet/moist.
(Hydro...
