I'm new to Tig and could do with some advice on power settings. The picture shows a 4mm dia chain link I welded to a piece of 8mm bar, I'm reasonably happy with the weld, it's clean and has decent penetration - good enough for the job, anyway.
I set the welder to about 80A, but it seemed to...
Handle in situ:
There is a new lock inside that steel case because the old one died. The handles have a 7mm square hole for the spindle, but the one that is in place is a 6mm square spindle which is slightly too short. To complicate it further the lock has an 8mm square hole, but I have a...
Loads of ideas on there. The one I liked best was to use acid to dissolve the steel screw in a brass collet. Won’t work in my case, but a bit of acid might help by removing any rust.
Too dark and cold right now, but I’ll get a photo. I can remove the handle from the other end of the spindle, so all I have is one handle and the spindle left.
It could easily have been me that broke a torx bit off in a hex grub screw but, in fact, this time it was someone else.
I have an outside gate with a cast iron/steel lever handle, like a normal door handle. The handle is fixed to the spindle with a hex grub screw (m5?), which is seized. I...
Sorry I can't be more help. As you've had some success with SMC reset, etc., it sounds like the PSU is working (not that there is much that goes wrong with them apart from the cable fraying). If you get boot sounds (bong), it could be screen related issues, but I'm still thinking battery, due to...
Also , I think that you can check battery health (I am using an iMac so can't check this myself and you may need a recent version of OSX).
Try this?:

I have had similar issues with older macbooks - battery is probably dud and needs replacing. Does it work if you leave it connected to mains power, or does it have to be battery?
Foot pedals for the 206p are back in stock (14 Oct). Also the checkout page is improved, now with card payment options as well as PayPal (two options for PayPal, I used the last option in the list and all went through as expected).
Thanks folks, for all the replies (and offers of equipment loans). I'm probably going to go for the cheapo Toolstation mixer. We've got a fair amount of floor tiling to do as well and I realised I can use it to mix the tile adhesive too.
I have a small plastering job to do at my son's house next week and and I can't find my old mixing paddle for my drill. Having Googled for a new one, I've discovered that you can buy a mains powered paddle mixer for anything from £30 up to £300.
Most of the cheap and cheerful ones are around...
I had the same problem last week, but just did an international bank transfer to the account on the confirmation email. Easy to do, and avoids any PayPal issues/charges. Confirmation that funds arrived within a couple of days, followed by UPS tracking info and welder arrived yesterday. All good...
