I'm aware of the properties of alloy and cast aluminium I have done a bit of repair and fabrication with both tig and mig.
I'm not sure what the ocv of my inverter set is I would have to check first just wanted to know what anyones experiences are with them apparently there are some with really...
I have a cracked gearbox housing that needs repair, it's not too thick and I have no argon at the moment so I wanted to know if anyone has any experience with the aluminium mma rods on the market now? I have a 200A inverter set and as it's a little job I didn't really want to go and get another...
yep clean and 4043 filler tho it dont make any diffrence filler or no filler i have had this befor on brand new parts
used to tig on end caps to 3" tube that where just pour cast welded nice then the supplyer chanced (same spec metrial) to forged and just would not weld with weak seam at edge...
i was shortening my ally sump from a ford zetec engine so it would fit my kitcar and i had a bit of trouble and i have had this once befor but not sure what it is
when weld pool forms (yes in ac and clean as a wistle no drafts and good pure argon flow) the arc gets a bit popy and tiny bubles...
if you have an inverter mig i expect you have a dial for arc voltage and one for inductence (looks like a _nnn_ symbol) or big industrial will have a few earth lead conections/transformer tappings
as everyone say it effects the way the transfer of wire from big drips forming on the end of the...
took a risk and got a wsme200 plus peddel for 399.01 inc tax and delivery with 12months rtb in uk i think it will be branded giant will see
have to see how it goes:scared:
good work jonnym good to see someone took the time to tryout and document my mod
if your getting stick out from the wire it is because the relay should short the motor terminals together to act as a motor brake (its acting dynamo so when the wires are joined it brakes the motor slowing it down...
it would have a wide range as your not ajusting feed voltage with arc voltage so when you go up a step on the trans you need to ajust the feed speed the way i have modded mine it will ajust feed automaticly it will also alow me to have feed fast enough to weld alley still!
bit of an update...
just an update
had a chance to use the cosmo 130 in anger while welding my kitcars rear uprights on top setting with 1.8 wire.
few things i noted the feed setting can be set +-15% with no problems no sweet spot needed anymore ;)
motor on the feed sounds so smooth now i can just hear it...
the part no. should be ok as i took them straight off the recept but im not sure if thay put the wrong no. on the resept tho
its just a small disc cap bit bigger than a match head for "coupling" realy im sure the size is not that crictical i fitted what i had at the time realy
its...
a note on my mod my cap's are fitted across the motor feed line (in corect polarity) after the controled voltage from the pcb.
my trimmer was set around 45 ohms with the fixed 200r one in place
its possible to mix up the 12v trigger circuit with the dc output from the main diodes
i think...
sounds to me like you have fried somthing like the transistor to me!
i would say you have made a mod screw up
as i had mentioned if your not sure how the circuit works and what and why i have fitted the bits where i have, needless to say how to fit the components in corect polarity etc ;)
update have had a little play welding some ally sheet with .8 5356 with some fair results but i think i could do with fitting the corect liner
i recon if it will push ally with no feed isues its pritty much sorted
