And so I did and I'm glad to have done thatI'm taking my torch with me cause I'm not sure about what I'll have to cut, and mine should be able to do up to 10" thick

Bonus points for remembering to put the unions on before flaring the pipe![]()
speaking of sykes-pickavant...(no idea they existed nor that they still made tools here in lancs!)

I see you list your location as Norfolk Lund'n? Can I ask who you use as your supplier?
Haha yeah I can see why you'd also mention Wymondham! MY laptop auto corrected 'norf' into Norfolk!I'm in North london, i usually use FH Brundle.
I have actually used Standley Steel in Wymondham when i was passing through and they were really good. I bought a whole bunch of offcuts from them and they were really nice to deal with, had a good selection and very cheap too.

I might have to check out FH Brundle. Certainly seems easier to get to than Metal supermarket in Park Royal or ordering online!
Having not got much experience within the metalworking world I had no point of reference. Now ive compared my last order from Metal supermarket to FH Brundle I can safely say I wont be visiting them again unless I'm nearby and desperate!I've used Metal Supermarket in Park Royal, they're a nice bunch with good stock but they're horrendously expensive. Very convenient for me, they're about 20 minutes away, but easily 3x the price of anywhere else. I use them for small quantities, offcuts or when i need stuff quickly.
FH Brundle are good. A bit further for me, but pretty cheap with good stock. They do deliver but i collect from their Rainham depot. The stuff i picked up yesterday came from them.
Non-ferrous in small quantities i buy online from 1st Choice Metals, they're really good. I buy my brass, ally and delrin from them.
Yeah I get the convenience of being able to buy a small off cut instead of a 7m length of something but even so! Just as a comparison I got a 1000mm x 700mm piece of 3mm sheet steel. £56 from MS and a 2m x 1m sheet from FH is £62!!! over double the amount of metal for barely anything extraI miss the local Metal Supermarket.
Expensive, but when you only needed a small amount of something, they were handy.
Yes but you are paying for the overhead of a small stockist who employs someone to cut it for you!Yeah I get the convenience of being able to buy a small off cut instead of a 7m length of something but even so! Had to do a late night trip to Rosyth again with friend to pickup a shear grab for a bargain, had to hire a stronger trailer but found someone on marketplace available for £30 so off we went!

Plan is to cut off the manitou quick hitch and weld up the standard skidsteer one using the parts cut off. It's certainly bigger than we expected!
