I have got a cheap acer laptop that the battery life is pretty good and I want to use it in the workshop
As supplied new it came with windows 10 but also a load of acer and other software apps that it wont let me uninstall and it is running really slowly with a lot of really annoying pop-ups and nags.
There is no windows licence sticker on it but the serial number is in the system info screen.
On powering it up today (not been used for ages) it told me this version of win10 is out of date, went to download the update but its telling me there is not enough drive space left.
Nearly 17gb is taken up by operating system files which seems high to me?
Basically the question is, can I just download the current version of 10 installer from the Microsoft site and pop on a usb stick to do a clean install and if I do will my existing key activate it?
I am wondering if the current product key is only for the acer oem version or not?
