Fronius magicwave 2000 fuzzy

Evening guys.

Right I am in serious thought about upgrading my pride and joy, I have had this set of a friend for a few years now and it works just as well now as from the day I received it, I really don't know what to upgrade to, would I get summit around the 2500-£3000mark?

Then don't upgrade it, if it is working correctly and does the job you want it to do then surely the money could be put to something else, or simply saved for the fateful day when your machine does go bang.

I would still have my fuzzy now if it was still current for parts.
Best Ac machines I've ever used.
Not sure I can help him really.
He could ask Chevy about steves dynasty.
Personally although there are newer and more sophisticated Machines out there, i would struggle to find many at all that I would call an "up grade" to a magicwave.

Miller Dynasty is probably the only machine out there with more features, such as independent EP/EN.
Used fronius and millers rarely come up though.

The Fronius's ability to offer that silky smooth quiet ac arc is slightly nicer than what I found with the dx200. Never used a dx210 mind but from an ac arc perspective I cannot off the top of my head genuinely think of a finer unit than a mw. Even a 20 year old one.

How do you think the arc of the MagicWave 2000 compared to the later

They are very similar matt. The newer one gives you a few more options with its bigger scope to fine tune things a bit further but the older one with its fuzzy thing is still the quietest I've ever come across. Maybe I got a good one who knows but in all honesty from a rock solid stability POV the old 2000 dare I say was probably nicer (slightly) it's hard to explain but really thin gage stuff at 20 amps or less it would just stay put and never fluster not even on strike up. The newer one is also good but in this area I think the older one has an edge and I am looking forward to finding a unit that I believe can better its stability in those lower currents. Let's be serious though I am getting so fine into the details that tbh 95% of people would never see this or notice such subtle differences between equivalent sets.
My most current set is one of yours now matt but in a (nicer) colour scheme. Joking aside it's very nice. It's a tinny type ac arc I would say which reminds me a lot of how the mls2300 was. It's really stable and I like it a lot.
I did some side by side stuff with it and the mw2200 and although they sounded and behaved differently the results couldn't be told apart on plate. Thinner gage Alu on outside corners the mw2200 was slightly more stable but your talking About a level that is boarding on irrelevant and the mw2000 was slightly better again at this impo.
It's all opinion based really. That 20 year old set was just perfect for me.

The 2000 had Fuzzy Logic but I seem to
Recall the MW 2200 replacement had Active Arc or something which was the later incarnation of Fuzzy. When I left Fronius the MW 2200 was only recently launched so I didn't have much head to head comparison with the older model.

But I would agree the AC arc on the 2000 was superb. Maybe it's is something akin to the comparison of Vinyl to digitised music. On paper and for almost every conceivable practical reason digitalisation is better, especially for welding machines, but in very specific and certain applications maybe the arc that was able to be achieved with the old analogue system was just "nicer" than what is able to be recreated with the clinical/sterile Digital method

Integrated circuits create an unwanted noise in any circuit they are used in,and that noise grows near exponentially with every additional chip.
I'm not saying it's directly applicable to welding noise generated from an ac arc,but there could be a relevance to the arc quality.
Probably not though,never heard anyone mention it regarding welding
