Hi guys,
Just watched a good youtube video by Craig Hopkins about plug welds. He started the weld on the edge of the outer panel and then moved in to the centre of the inner panel. His welds looked superb.
I have always (not done much) started at the centre of the inner panel and worked out the way.
Any opinions on this?
Main reason for asking is that I am about to start welding new floors into my Peugeot 304. There will be three flanges to plug at the same time. (outer sill, centre sill and floor flange) So the two outer panels will have holes drilled and plug welded through to the third panel. Might be a stupid question but should the holes be the same size (8mm?) or should the hole in the outer panel be larger than the hole in the centre panel.
Hope that makes sense. Thanks.
