how to store 8x4 sheets?

Screws no good Resin fix stud or through bolts. Concrete screws? Save them for doors and windows Imo

I removed a window a couple of weeks ago, didn't even have long concrete screws in it, battery drill didn't want to shift two of them, so I grabbed a ratchet... and snapped a teng t30 torx bit :-0

I've got loads of good, heavy stuff held up with them, if it's important stuff, buy decent ones and make them as long as you can... you're not going to pull a 130mm concrete screw out of the concrete, so only way to break it would be to snap it, they're 6mm ish diameter ? - imagine trying to snap an m6 bolt out of the ground with a claw hammer... it's practically the same thing


say he wants 3 compartments at 100mm wide each, that means the rack thing will be about 400mm wide ? (3x100mm gaps and 4x25mm box section uprights) the wider base makes it stronger too

To great a pull rate failure risk, ultimately your relying on the strength of a thread forced into concrete. Windows and doors fine because they are in shear only, we used to fit on hammer in fixings pre concrete screws for example

I think they'll definitely be strong enough, with decent concrete screws and the right size drill bit for them they're incredibly strong

depends how thick the floor is... probably only 4 inch? (but deffo. less than 6?) so there's a point where you're only as strong as concrete directly around the screw/resin

I'm pretty sure I couldn't pull out a 100mm concrete screw with a crow bar and all my weight behind it... at that point if you want something stronger you really need to put a plate down on the floor to spread the load over a larger area / more fixings ?

that link seams to suggest there's not much point being more than 1 3/4 inches into concrete... either way, with 6mm diam and 45mm into the concrete they're good for over 2000lb pull (and more depending on concrete strength/grade)

Too many ifs and buts on this one for me personally. I wonder why I have never seen them fastening in portal frame buildings yet
