Sorry to invoke the PC thing but I feel it's time to say something on behalf of true indigenous pliers, who are rather offended by the inclusion of all those snips, moles, grips, callipers, screwdrivers and even strippers in this thread.

Please have a care for their sensibilities and refrain from posting pictures of anything but the true plier in future.....

Maybe so but surely none of us would want to return to the bad old days of the Tongs and Tweezer wars which were started by a similar misconception....I know I don't!

I have half a carrier bag full of brand new snips and pliers picked them all up brand new for peanuts

Any ideas what these were/ are,I found them, the tips look too fine for circlips,the hole on the handle is 12 mm.
The name " R.TIMMINS & SONS.

Yes mate, I like the facom set but if I fancy splurging some company cash I may get a set like these

as my ones aren't great at the smaller crimps (I've been doing a bit using cat5 cable as 485 comms cable recently and using the white bootlace crimps the facom ones leave them a bit loose)

Got them, but not fussy on the serrated finish.

I've been using these for panel building for years, only problem is they won't do 0.25 & 0.34 ferrules, but got a cheap pair to do those.

Got them too. I like the Weidmuller stuff. You can just see mine under the other bootlace ones at the rear of the draw.

I have been trying to be a little more organised recently though. This is what you call storage.

The serrated edge is to aid removal of the foil. The cutter is to remove the wire and the brush is to brush away any debris
