Chris, I have to agree with you there. One of my employees failed to stop the autofeed; it forced the cross slide into the chuck and cracked the saddle. Called them up, they didnt have one in stock so took it of another machine. Received the part the next day,

I know of some other companies that take apart a new machine to meet demand. Else could be waiting 7 months.

WMT300 failed to deliver three times but 4th time did an overnight for a Sat delivery upon 3rd threat of cancel. Similar with a 918 but only once. GH1330 promised two weeks after the show at Nuneaton last year in stock, failed to materialise months after repetative arrogant calls, we are the paying customer! Went elsewhere better bigger machine for same price delivered within a week and unloaded with a Hiab. Similar yet again promised two weeks at a Donnington show with a DRO unit paid in full £140 cash, repetative weekly calls met with dont care unruly unhelpful arrogance, Barry is the opposite, finally turned up the following year at wrong address (i filled in the delivery address) another customer of theirs, says it all.
At your own risk. Honesty is the best policy and if was told in the first place 'rather than get the sale' deadlines could have been rearranged.

Well after having a good look around the lathe I have ordered some new belts (old ones knackered), new oiler(one has a broken glass) and some new oil nipples(a couple missing). Everything else seems good, the next thing I want to do is build a descent bench/cabinet for it as the one it came with looks like it was built by "Stevie Wonder", yea! that bad, Anyway, isn't it great to have a hobby?, I will post some before and after pics as soon as I can

Great machine Rog. I love my ML7. Once in a while I moan because I could do with something bigger but I've not found anything I like using as much.

Yea, sorry guys.. Glass half full ect... I have not fitted the Dewhurst switch yet as I plan to "improve" on the stand first, if anyone else is about to throw away a stand/cabinet for a myford... please throw it my way. I have ordered the spares from Lathe Spares, this link was put on here earlier (thanks). I don't know how to do this link thing yet, I am not that cool with PCs yet

Did notice looks like its been done with a cheapy mig with wire feed problems.
At least i grind mine off.

Notice the address bar at top of this page, mouse over it, right click then left clicky on copy. When you want to insert the link mouse right click, a drop down menu and left click on paste.
Piccies can be had by right clicking on a piccy, left click on properties a pop up may appear with the location where stored. Left click on the address should be something like this http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL15/728921/1252422/56398906.jpg This wont highlight even though blue. Usually highlights on left click but drag so whole address is highlighted then right click, a drop down menu appears and left clicky on copy.

Well I have been beavering away sorting out my workshop and I have now serviced the lathe with new belts, oil feeder, and a good clean and lube. I also sorted out the stand and wired up a spur for the lathe and a worklight above the bed. Many happy hours of fetling to come I hope.
