DX courier - anyone else had problems?

Managed to get a plasma cutter, after looking forever for one.

It was posted with DX courier service on tuesday and should of been here wednesday.

Was really excited for it turning up on wednesday, but it never did

Been on the phone all day yesterday and today and they have lost it.

It got collected on tuesday and its never been seen since. Just my luck
Its now under investigation to try and find it, but i'm not holding my breath.

I have used loads of couriers before and never had a problem, untill now.

Has anyone else had problems with DX? and has anyone had a lost parcel found by a courier company?

similar problem,I phoned them, told them I was good friends with a detective inspector, just down the road from them and I will have a word, suddenly they decided the driver was unexpectadly taken ill,blah blah blah, so I said well if item has gone walk about I will prosecute , amazingly they "found" said item in ware house after extensive search, make of that what you will, but it was eventually delivered.....

They once were collect a lap top from me and send to head office.
It was collected, but did not get there.
The driver claimed I was not in to give it to him.
Despite a signed note saying he had, they claimed I faked it.

It went back and forth until we sent them CCTV of said driver, the van and him collecting the lap top.

After 24 weeks the missing lap top was "Located"

I worked for a fire company who serviced their sites, every one had an area of "lost" or "un deliverable" items.
I asked what happens to it and was told.

Oh it disappears in time.

Thats the best part of it, when i use the number to track it, it comes up Collected, sent to Depot, out for Delivery.

It has had the 'out for delivery' on the tracking, since late tuesday night, so like a t*t i sat waiting for it all of wednesday.

But when i phoned, it never made it to the depot, so the tracking system is just lies anyway

I honestly think the driver has took it, as something of that size cant just go missing.

I ordered something from ebay - I live in a rural loaction, the item didn't turn up and once I found the tracking no. (long story) it looked like attempted delivery, but no card left.
I then used the deliver to work address on their website, so I enter work post code for address look-up, turns out that even though it finds the address, it doesn't populate the postcode (I've just entered!) Apparently I should have checked that they had a bug in their webb app. Tossers!

Anyhow your contract is with the seller, they have contracted DX. Don't waste your time trying to contact DX, insist on a full refund from the seller NOW!

Would not be the first time.

I was told that the address might have come off or its badly written, thats why no one can find it. However the driver brought the label with him so, it will of been perfect.

I think the driver hasnt put the label on and just took the package home with him.

Main problem with that is i paid bank transfer, the fella i have bought it seems very genuine, and i done loads of checks to make sure he actually exsisted before i paid.

I should of just bit the bullet and drove down to collect it. Wouldn't have had any of these problems

The problem is, they will tell you a lot of things and none of them will be their fault.

In the UK, as a remote buyer you have a lot of rights - the law is on your side. It used to be called the distance selling regulations, it's now the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

My dad spoke to a friend of his, who is a solicitor, and he said he has sued a courier before for the price of replacing the item, rather than what the item was purchased for.

The only reason i bought it was because it was cheap, so if i get my money back i cannot go out and buy another for the same price. Ive been looking for over 2 years until i found one in my price range.

Well got some good news today

After my dad spoke to his solicitor friend last night, he said for me to contact the CEO of DX courier.
Got the email address for the CEO fella off http://www.ceoemail.com/ and sent him a email this morning.

Within a couple of hours i had a woman on the phone, saying she had been told off the CEO, to investigate the problem and find the parcel. About 1 hour later she phoned back saying it had now been found in the Newcastle depot and it will be delivered on Monday And the whole thing will be investigated properly as the complaint was made directly to the CEO.

To be honest i don't think it really is at Newcastle, i think some one has had there ar*e kicked down south and its now getting brought up over the weekend. But as long as it turns up i'm not too bothered

So if anyone has a problem with a courier in the future, get the CEO's email address off http://www.ceoemail.com/ and send them a polite email. And suddenly your parcel will reappear out of thin air.

Looking forward to Monday now

I've used that website to good effect in the past as has a mate, always gets a response pdq. The secret is to remain unfailingly polite throughout, start a rant at them and you've already lost.

Yep, the email i sent was very polite, listed the facts without going on and on. If you follow the hints and tips on the website it seems to work out good.

On a similar note, if you have anything go missing care of Royal Mail, contact their customer services department as soon as possible. We had some concert tickets that they attempted to deliver but we were not in. All the tracking online showed they were at the depot, but the depot had no record of it. They promised to get a manager to ring but never got the call. Someone on another forum advised to contact customer services, who light a fire under the manager, and lo behold your package suddenly turns up.

First time i have used a plasma cutter, and i cant believe how good they are. Cuts through thick plate so easy.

Just need a bigger compressor now.
