Today I acquired this diesel compressor. Had it running for a few minutes to build some air. A pin prick hole in the air tank.easily fixed...ain't got a clue what to do with it as I all ready have a compressor.....the Mrs will moan at me for bringing it home.but it kind of called me .blows hot air according to the switches.

Not sure why you'd want hot compressed air, its less dense and more likely to contain water. Vacuum is pretty cool, I wonder what sort of pressure it'll reach.

According to the guy I got it from..it was used on an old airfield to defrost some aircraft bits...along with the mighty midget stick welder that I have .

Yes I agree. I will just give it a good clean up and get it running properly...

Obviously each to his own, cant agree more if something has had a hard life and needs restoring, take for example a old ferguson tractor thats been used as a farm scraper, covered in rust totally needs a full restoration,do it,use it more and enjoy it, but that looks good to me as is ,yes a good service and minor fixing and use it some more.I think the main thing with all this old kit is getting it back to good working order to use it being the most important.
