Where do you get you mains LED's ?

Hi

I'm trying to do my bit for the environment (not really I just want to reduce my elecy bill)

I'm after some G9 LED's to replace the 28W halogens we currently have in the lights in our lounge, we have 5 of them and they are on for an average of 8 hours a night so 1.1KwH just in lighting.

Where's the best place to find replacements as I'm going bog-eyed searching at the moment, been at it for about 4 hours now.

The problems I have is that they are usually under powered or too long, I want some that are 400+ Lumen and 40mm or less in total length including the wire connectors, preferably in warm-white.

Hopefully the great and the good on here will have an answer

No recommendations apart from stay away from ebay unless you like your house stinking of burning when the chinese underrated components let go and nearly catch fire (the stink is apparently a safety feature to stop you ignoring the fire risk!). Had a fair few of them go bad in the early days when it was awkward to get g9's in led.
But, most def do it, we used to have a mains spike when we turned on the kitchen with 12 G9's the inrush current was so high, and we were forever changing lamps because they liked to blow. But now its led, no more bad mains spikes and significantly reduced leccy bill.

Don't put THOSE on mains (as the OP asked) you you WILL get nasty smells - they're low voltage ones

Thanks for trying but they are too long and far too lower lumen output.

The halogens I have at the moment are 370Lumen and I'd like them a bit brighter but the absolute limit is 40mm overall length or they will show outside of the shade and that's a big no-no.

No, I've already looked on there, nothing bright enough.

But thanks for trying. I know I'm an awkward sod but can't believe nobody does what I want.
