Hi all
so Ive been staring at saws for weeks now, I needed a way to cut square (90°), cos my makita abrasive cutoff saw could not do that.
The other day I bought a used stayer TF84 cold cut saw, it hasnt arrived yet, but only after did I realise its limited to 60mm box section.
I'd like to cut 80mm, so bit of a boo boo there on my part. But still, its an interesting saw that didnt cost the earth.
Today i was off work sick, and came across a Femi saw on my local classifieds. I remember complimenting someone on this forum, on the cuts they had achieved, and the guy saying he had used a Femi band saw.
So I spent the day reading, and they sound great, by all the accounts that I can find online. So now I want one.
The niftiest ones at currently are the Femi ABS NG160 & the Femi ABS NG120.
The ABS stands for automatic power cut-off,
and the NG stands for new generation, which in turn means that the blade travels the opposite direction to most bandsaws.
Below are pics of the two models. There are a ton of vids online but no real hard reviews.
This is the bigger of the two, the NG160
and the smaller of the two, the NG120
So now the question - they arent cheap... I'm creating this thread in the hope someone has a notion where I might pick one up cheaper than the prices I can find online.
Really I've only seen them on ebay, and I cant claim VAT back on those.
A search on google.ie or google.uk doesn't turn up very much at all.
This is the cheapest I could find the NG160
ebay Italy for 1050 euros / 900 GBP
