What also helps even further is a decent shower head

We have one of these, REALLY well built, 5 modes with a decent sized lever and if you live in a hard water area, it has toolfree disassembly for cleaning
(I *improved* it further by drilling out the restrictor grommet, 10 or 13mm drill..most showerheads now have some stupid restrictor moulded into them to "save water"...meh I go to the shower to blow the grime off, not get trickled on)
Other issue is the house is mainly piped in 22mm (used to have gravity hot water), except the cheapskates who fitted the boiler ran 15mm across the loft (before I moved in), and probably used the 22mm on another job, outlet from hot water tank is 22, yet there is 15mm in the loft and back into 22mm where it descends into the cupboard beside the bathroom again...muppets...
any copper pipe in concrete or in plaster walls just wrap them in plastic tape or cover with duct tape and will last foreverHaving had to rip my kitchen out and dig the floor up to replace a copper pipe that had become an indoor water feature I'm not as keen on copper as I was! Hopefully the replacement plastic lines will have a long and uneventful life.
specialy with heatSome of the plastic goes brittle over time I thought.

A good shower is one of those things you have to get right in life. Overhead big locker room style shower head and has to be scorching hot, bliss.
get a karcher and get your lass to blast u downPersonally my shower is ok, but I'd prefer to be able to take the pressure higher than 3 bar...something like 6 or 8 to really blast the knots in my back
Yep; and they're commonly supplied with a narrow-bore flexy pipe for the same reason (as well as being cheaper, I've no doubt). Every one I've replaced with a decent 12 or 13mm bore flexy has improved wonderfully. What also helps even further is a decent shower head

Ho ho. There were conniptions and a great deal of finger-pointing and swearing over here a few years ago when a bad supplier was found to have flooded (hah) the market with cheap PEX piping. The problems arose about two or three years after installation, when hundreds of houses developed damp patches because of pin-holes in the pipes. Some of the plastic goes brittle over time I thought.
Years ago, I picked up a 6" diameter fixed stainless shower head at a boot sale. I intend to fit it to the Uber-shower when I finallly get around to it. I priced them up at some point and was intrigued to find them at HFM? level. I think this one came out of some institution or sports complex. Needless to say, it will require a decent head or pumped feed.A good shower is one of those things you have to get right in life. .....those overhead drench would really nice when you have a hangover
