Cutting disks that don't spark

Hi I have a Clarke chop saw but the blade is pants and sparks like crazy is there a blade that doesn't spark as much and cuts without any burrs? It would need to be a 355mm blade thank you

That's correct yes abrasive disk

You'll be lucky, it's not really the blade sparking, it's the material. As the particles are ground off and friction occurs it heats them...

The only metal/material that won't do it will more than likely be brass...

The only way you can have that kind of saw without burrs, sparking or heat is one using a TCT blade such as those available from Evolution. You would need the saw and blade as the speeds are lower, take a look as they're not silly money. Well the blades are, the saws aren't.

A TCT will throw red hot chips and sparks out anyway. What you want is a cold saw.

My evolution saw with a tct blade will throw sparks when cutting steel, although nowhere near as much as an abrasive. I find it a quicker cut too...you don't even feel the steel there below 5mm just sails through.

Will Be using it tomorrow or Tuesday so will try and get a video of the sparks for you

Don't use the Clarke discs they are atrocious. They dust like crazy and vibrate , well the ones I had did. I bought some from a local welding supplier that are cheaper, longer lasting and better cutting. The Erbauer ones from Screwfix are alright but a bit dearer. Don't force the cut and it will be a lot cleaner plus the discs last longer. I used mine the other day to turn a dented Micron can into a stubby, works great for jobs like that. Mag alli case made some lovely sparks

You can get the metal cutting discs as replacements for abrasive discs, it is a case of shopping around and checking material type and speeds

Do you mean cold cut saw blades? They won't fit onto an abrasive saw I'm afraid - speeds are all wrong.

Link would be good mate as all the tct saws I've ever seen have a speed about half of an abrasive saw.

14" tct blades typically have a max rpm of 1450, abrasive saws will run at twice that speed, mine is 3000 rpm

Have you got a low pressure oxygen cylinder to go with it I'll take that as well please.

yeah its that low it will try sucking air in for a while it was refilled with a special pump called a vacuum pump or something

Several manufacturers doing them now, and diamond replacement blades.

To the OP - don't be tempted to put a tct blade in because of the speed issue.

I must admit I've just done a search and can not find any high speed blades to replace an abrasive disc
