Personally I think Screwfix's requirement to have your postcode to access your 'account' to sell you anything over the counter - it is only a shop selling consumer goods - is out of order and an intrusion into my privacy.
It's nothing compared to the identify theft that goes on when you try to get a Playstation to work online though...

I just sent one of the lads down to pick up the item. I gave him my card that I paid on which had my business name on it. I sent him the purchase confirmation order to his phone with the order number.
A woman from the branch just rung me and said not enough id.
So to get the item I've had to pay again on card and then they'll refund me the cost to the original card... what a palaver

No i just give him the card hoping that it would be enough proof of id
