Thought I'd best share this experience. Last Monday through pure abuse and laziness on my behalf (not been bothered to obtain the correct tool for the job and just using what was on me at the time) I managed to break the end off the knife blade on my skeletool cx.
Now I know leatherman have a 25 year warranty but it was obvious from the way it was bent and had snapped it had not been used for its intended purpose. But I thought I'd try my luck.
A quick Google found a uk address and tel no to deal with and the next day it was in the post with my ad and tel no. No proof of purchase went with it. The Wednesday I receive a call. "Is the tool sentimental or would I be happy to have a new one." Christ on a bike I'd be happy with a new blade but if your gonna send me a new one I'd be over joyed. Friday morning in a new box with a new sheath and a new bit set it landed on my door step.
Can't complain about that at all. Warranty obviously means a lot to leatherman, they clearly stand by there tools and I'm a customer for life based on this experiance. I would of had no issues if they had phoned me to say "it's been mistreated and we need to charge for a blade replacement"
Buy a leatherman I say. Unless you lose it you've got it for the next 25 years no question about that.
