Leaf Blower Recommendation

I (& the family) are considering a leaf blower for the oul boy for Christmas.
Which to go for though?
Corded, cordless or petrol?

Are the corded ones a pain in the ****?
Do the cordless last for any length of time?
And are the petrol ones worth spending a bit more?

Cordless ones are only good if you have a very small garden and not many leafs. My suggestion is don't touch them

Cheap petrol ones are a waste of time and ive not had much luck with them. The good ones are just too expensive for a machine that's only used a few times a year

Currently im using a £60 corded machine. I have a massive back garden and drive and it does exactly what I need with minimum amount of fuss

Had a Ryobi petrol for 2/3yrs, 2/3 pulls starts staight up and does the job.

What I would add is, its a screwdriver job to swap from suck to blow. Some machines are far easier/quicker to change over.

Bought a Worx 3000W corded blower, sucker, mulcher and it does the job. Quite noisy, though, so get earplugs as a side present, and using the shoulder strap on the collector bag just doesn't work, somehow, so use it with the bag just hanging down, but that's seems to be OK. Just need to lift the bag up away from the discharge nozzle occasionally, if it bungs up.

Thank you Parm I think the light use and the smallish area my Da would be using it on would probably be suited to the corded.
I think the petrol would probably be overkill and also double the cost.

Smallish back & front garden. Well within the radius of the 30m extension he has I would say.

Good idea.
Fun if you have small ones around to help.

I have a Bosh corded one, does mine garden and a friends garden with no issue.
Good collection bag and easy to use.

We bought my Father In Law a Ryobi petrol leaf blower and it's pants, even after tuning (which needs a stupid tool making up) it would struggle to blow Bruce Forsyths syrup off.

I got a mitox one from Dennis Wilson of Glenavy 2 years ago. It got a LOT of work this autumnal hasn't missed a beat. We got a stihl bg86 from Cathcarts it's a much nicer machine but they both do the same thing. I'd say the stihl will last a bit longer.
If you have more than 5 square metres to blow leaves off I wouldn't bother with cordless or electric.

same here wifey bought it for me. its a cheapy and it blows the cuttings of the hedge and public footpath about 30 yards long twice a year would only have a petrol one if it was been used like clockwork daily and no power supply deffo not a battery one
