John Herschel Glenn Jr. (July 18, 1921 – December 8, 2016) was an American aviator, engineer, astronaut, and United States Senator from Ohio. He was one of the "Mercury Seven" group of military test pilots selected in 1959 by NASA to become America's first astronauts and fly the Project Mercury spacecraft.

No he was a lier, every year I've heard him say, they say there will be snow this Christmas. And there never is

I'm not trying to be disrespectful but other than the Americans who cares that John Glenn has died ?

He was the 5th person to travel in space, 2 Russians and 2 Americans beat him into space, Nobody remembers who was the 5th person to break the sound barrier, but we all have heard of Chuck Yeager.

The way various news outlets have been reporting that he was "The first NASA astronaut to orbit the Earth" as though nobody else had ever been in space before, perhaps I'm too cynical but the western news outlets sound more and more like propaganda than actual fact based news with each passing day.
