euro torch conversion but depends if the wire feed will work well on a long torch some do some don't 3metre should be ok 4 metre will be pushing it
or might be time to upgrade to a new welder ??
Crazy idea
If I was to get a replacement torch can I just extend the power lead to the torch and fit a longer gas hose and liner, then just fit additional outer sheathing for the new bit. Max I'm think to go to is 3m
Yes, you could.
Do you actually need a new torch?
yes you can buy a complete 3 metre torch comes with all that
If you use the right connections:
bullet for trigger switch
push fit pneumatic (4mm ??) for gas
crimped eyelet for weld power
longer "normal" liner
several layers of (20mm??) heat shrink tubing to create outer sheath.
It should then be possible to remove the above and return torch to "normal" if required.
Note off set/spread out the above connections and fitting to avoid them all being in same spot in/under heat shrink to avoid big bulge!
To save trashing my good torch can I buy just a torch then make it up my self as required ?
Settle for 3mts as your motor will be working hard to "push" the wire up a 4 meter linerMind made up, I'm really not keen on the "new welder idea" don't use it enough to warrant all the cost and hassle,
Yes hobby torches are more than a euro, but by the time iv got a gas sole engod etc etc, the torch will be proportionately more expensive than the welder.
Extending all cables hoses etc is the best compromise for cost, ease and simplicity.
Also going to open up the torch handle and see if I can fit new but longer hoses cables etc rather than extending. If so 4m will be my ideal, if not I'll settle with 3m
