They are part of a tank filter / breather gizmo, its an interesting little job, I'll show more in another thread in a few days when one is finished, there are 15 of them on the go so plenty of welding to do yet,
As you can see, plenty of tacks put in hot and fast, then skip welded using a 1mm filler rod, and a nice sharp tungsten, a piece of aluminium angle clamped in as a backing bar helps to control distortion.
