I love the speed bump handles on the speedway torches but as soon as you attach a clip on switch the whole handle just becomes num. almost doubles in thickness and the worst thing is to use a switch you need to turn the speedbump upside down as I like the bump at the top. It's no good I've lived with it long enough and because I use a pedal once in a blue moon I'm afraid I'll have to sacrifice the bump.
So I bought a cheap round handle for a weldcraft type torch. Few quid sized up for a wp20 but guess what. Speedway hoses are thicker than the cheapo ones and the bloody thing don't fit. I'm not spending £20 on the genuine one. That's just crazy for a plastic tube sooooooooooooo
Now my switch fits lovely and I've still got the genuine handle.
Engineering solutions at there best.

You suddenly find you have more mates than you thought you had and all want something turning for free, usually brake discs skimming.

I'm quite lucky really. You got no chance of getting a brake disc in my little baby toy.
Yes lathes are handier than I ever imagined.

Well it came at a cost. I've just finished putting the bleeding lathe all back together. That fine plastic dust got into every tiny nook and cranny making the slides feel tighter than normal. Stripped her right down to the bed and got it all out with a soft brush. Nice and free again and worth the agro.

That is the reason I continually pee off the boatyard, they are always asking me to turn up wooden bungs and they get told that if they want wood turned get a wood lathe.
Did wood once for them and had to totally strip down the wee Student to get it free again, never again.

People that come in asking for discs to be done get told no problem, £200 a disc, they disappear faster than snaw aff a dyke.

Metal lathe for metal. Wood lathe for wood. My mate uses his metal lathe for both I do not know how he can be bothered with the hassles of doing wood on it.
