Very nice! I passed my driving test in a SWB Landrover, my first car.
The wife's first car was a SWB Series III Petrol Hardtop, she loved it. Kids in the back, not so much.

Would love to have seen the lazy tyre guy balancing those wheels, theres about £10 of lead on them![]()
Out of the 4 I think the lowest is 250gWould love to have seen the lazy tyre guy balancing those wheels, theres about £10 of lead on them![]()

When wheels get balanced are they 2 plane balanced?
Adding 750g to a wheel sounds very excessive, ive added less weight to Fans to bring the vibration down from Self destruct levels to you don't know its running, The last big one I did weighs a few Ton and is a few meters across and I think we put about 450g on it.
in the past i have put over a 1000 grams 2.2pounds plus on landrover 750x16 remoulds and over 3ks 6.6 pounds on 7.5 ton remould tyres not ideal
Just needs a couple more weights and it will be fine!View attachment 96393
That rim must be damaged; bent

, as they were fitting a new tyre they balanced (properly) both front wheels and checked the rears for no extra cost Defo not ideal lol. I would be asking serious questions if I did a job like that.

Must have been done at Nation Tyres in Borehamwood!
Took then 3 attempts to balance some new tyres! The first two times it was like driving a jackhammer, the third time it still vibrates at motorway speeds but I can't be bothered going back to get the monkeys to sort it out. My wife doesn't notice it!!

Hi, Steel wheels are more prone to being out of balance in their bare state than alloy's, because alloy's are machine finished on a lathe. Steel wheels are pressed and built up from component parts and are surprisingly varied in their 'trueness'.
