Mitre saw to cut pipe

Hi all. I want to make a log burner for a friends garage out of a redundant gas bottle with a flue that has a lobster back, as he already has a hole in the garage wall it would need to come up to the right height and then out through the wall.

But im unsure whether this would be the best tool to buy and a little confused as to whether it is capable of cutting pipe up to a diameter of 125mm as it says the max cross cut is 125 x 55mm?

Has anyone got some advice?

A few of us on here have bought manufacturer graded stock from the Evo eBay shop and been pleased with them. Have a poke about here and you might mind a better deal, although it might be a case of checking a few times until you find availability of what you want/need.

For lobster back bends in the flue pipe I just mark it out and use a thin cutting disk in and angle grinder,, Also try to leave a little bit un-cut at the outside of the bend to aid with it being held in place for welding,

The saw you linked will not cut 125mm diameter pipe. The blade is only 210 diameter, so even of you could cut right up to the spindle, it would only cut 105mm diameter. Realistically with the motor and arbour, it will be a lot less than that, which is where they probably get their 55mm from.
Even the bigger Evo Rage 2 with a 355mm blade will only cut up to 120mm diameter, but I reckon with a bit of jiggling around it would do it cleanly enough.

I thought as much. Is there a better tool out there thats not too pricey that would do the job? I would get a horizontal band saw but their abit out of my price range at the moment.
If not then i will probably go down the route of using an angle grinder as one of you have suggested

Bandsaw, many metal cutting bandsaws will cut this in one go with one cut.

Seen a few secondhand ones going cheaply recently as people sell them off before Christmas.

Have you looked at the Milwaukee hand held bandsaws? Cutting capacity on the big one is up to 125 x 125, so I guess it will cut 125 dia pipe ( albeit at 90 degrees).
I've seen people make stands for them to give you that bit more accuracy when cutting. Around £300 for the corded and £500 for the cordless from the ones I've seen online
