40-60psi of pressure.
Flow ideally should be low 1-2 Lpm back into the tank is perfect. A trickle is better than a blast. Pressure is the important thing.

Don't skimp on the pump. It is the thing that's gonna keep your expensive torches from frying up.
Make double sure it's up to the job .

I buy the proper tig coolant from my local welding supplies.
Without knowing the full facts of what Richard does, I imagine he likes using a small #9 tig torch, if it wasnt a watercooled torch a similar size one would be restricted to around 100-120 amps

Having over 200 amps on tap is very nice but not much use if your tig torch is unable to cope with it.
A big cumbersome tig torch like a wp26 is gas cooled and rated to 200 amps max but start using it on AC at 150 for any period of time and it will get very hot. Not to mention its general size isn't the nicest to try and handle.
By water cooling a wp20 can be used which is a rather small torch easy to manipulate and usually rated to over 250amps at 100%. They don't suffer from getting hot if used within the range. Consumable torch parts don't suffer either and last waaaaaaaay longer. I find your gas shield is more effective too through a water cooled torch where the ceramic isn't smoking hot.
Every thing about water cooling (baring the expense) is just loads nicer.

Gas cooled has it's place (carbon pipe, on site) but for bench work, water cooled really is the way to go...

Sorry to get back onto pumps again but I have put out feelers to people who I think may have access to the procon type pumps but so far drawn a blank.
Have been wondering however why a central heating circulating pump could not be used?
They have plenty head, even the small ones. Volume is massive compared to what is needed but a simple flow diverter could be used to reduce to what is required. The motor is integral and water lubricated and they last for many years in a dirty central heating system.
Worth a try? especially as they can be easily picked up cheap or free?

They make 10psi at best. There are some success stories on them but also some failures. Do you really want to risk cooking a watercooled torch?Purple is for the artistic type
