Retired friends of ours are selling their Freelander because of health reasons, It's a 2003 one owner with only 27500 miles, full dealership history, just had a main full service. Virtually as new. What do you landy guys think they can realistically sell it for. They are giving up motoring so part ex isn't an option.

£2k up to £2.5k if the right person comes along looking for a "keeper"?
It has been used regularly but mainly short runs which isn't always ideal, especially a vehicle such as this. I can vouch for the mileage.

I would say usually once a week, maybe twice, but mainly local.

A friends dad was considering buying a Ferrari owned by Elton John, very low miles and hardly used. Was advised by 2 specialists that unless he wanted to keep it parked up then walk away, it would likely need a mega money engine rebuild due to lack of use and seals etc drying out

Would be easy to check and actually sounds like a bit of a bargain. I'm not looking for one right now but if I was I would be giving it a look.
Things like the viscous coupling are mileage related rather than age, so a nice low-mileage example might be a good buy. The exhaust/cats might be a bit dodgy due to not having been up to full temperature regularly.
