Those crimps aregood, the crimping tool is ok for the odd use. The stripers are a sweet bit of kit.

I have the ratchet crimpers for insulated, non insulated and Co axil crimps. They are well used and still going strong.
I junked my farnell gas iron, was not at all good.
The one I got now is a MAC one, the only thing I did not like was the box broke after 4 weeks.

That's what I was going to say, I was thinking of loctite, glues, oils/lubes, etc; because that's the sort of thing I always need but never buy myself, maybe OP is the same.

Vise Grips,

You can't replace combinations wrenches with a vise grip

But when you need a vise grip, you can't replace them with anything.

Not just the normal ones, look at the big ones for welding.
Look at the Needle nose, bent needle nose, all the little sizes, Chain vise grips - you can gang together unlimited # for a long chain.
Make hem into slide hammers, copper jaws, whatever

Garage, shop, basement, kitchen, car...everywhere.

One more never hurts.

heatgun - use mine all the time , speeding up paint drying , warming stuff , paint stripping household gloss etc

might just creep under the £25 if its on sale at aldi and the like - power file , super handy for fiddly bits that almost nothing else would do

budget angle grinders - not to everyones taste but for a diy home user get a few and set each one with cutting /sanding/wire wheel etc , makes life easy when doing a little job that needs all 3 tasks doing

last - these new cob style led torches , way way brighter than the old style , very very impressive for £6

sinse theres some owners of the hyd crimper....any source for reasonble prices selection pack of terminals ? keep buying ones that dont fit the cable soo great

I think it's a combination of differences in cable and terminals. What I've had to do in the past is use the listed size first then go down one. It's also quite common where you end up with some small ears on the side after the crimp. I always make sure I have the crimp lined up so they will be in the same plane as the terminal itself. that way they still look neat.

I don't know just how fine the control is with a flypress, I'm wondering if you would have enough control by the time it's worked through the taper ring as there's not that much tolerance for the hoses, too much crimp causes problems.
It would be interesting to see if you can make it work.

Torches are as cheap as chips and are certainly good enough if you just need to find the mains light-switch without braining yourself by falling over stuff [I've seen pics of some of your workspaces....., or setting fire to the lot...... I bought them so I can have one in my pocket, one in the car, one in the.....
