Lock ID

I was asked earlier if I could help sort a door latch / lock out on a stock (horse) lorry. Keys were lost by the previous owner which hasn't been a problem until now. I just can't seem to get an id for the type of lock let alone see if there are replacement barrels available or even a whole new lock to make a simple switch. I only have the one picture I was sent as below to go off - does anyone here know the type / make of lock?

Looks to me like a standard barrel, the sort of thing fitted to British cars in the 70s. Takes the FS/FP range of keys.

Looks like you might be right. Think I'll have to have a look at it in the flesh on the weekend to be sure but would make life easy if it would take a standard barrel.

I thought that too at first but no surround / flush mount on this one - which all caravans seem to have (even the vintage one we have).

Take out the barrel, Use another key that will fully enter the keyhole and dress of any "tumblers " that don't line up. It shout be ok for security. I don't think many thieves try to pick locks anymore.

if its the same key as the old caravan type just stick a key in and start jiggling, they have the same amount of security as a banana has from its skin

or just buy a blank and file it to suit the tumblers
