So chaps and chapess's, it's the end of another busy week. What are you all up to over the weekend?

I'm knocking off early and heading to Reading for a memorial night get together at a comedy club for a friend who was killed in a road accident.

Saturday I'll be wiring in a workshop and having some mates over for dinner in the eve.

Sunday no plans, but maybe ill pop out and do some target shooting in the morning and afterwards try to coerce the Mrs into making me a roast lunch. One thing I won't be doing is thinking about welding or related industries until 8:00AM Monday.

Sorry to hear about your friend Jim, but that sounds like a pleasant way to have a remembrance evening for them.

Round to our friends this evening for lasagna, wine and a film or two, stay there the night then spend the day tomorrow building a leanto type extension on the back of the their garage for his ride on mower and a log store.
Might be able to finish fitting the tumble dryer as well if he's got the hose extension, discovered on Wednesday after drilling the hole in the outside wall that he didn't have a long enough hose
The start re-roofing my garage on sunday. I've got my next shift off so have plenty time to do it but it would be nice to have it water tight before the worst of the winter sets in.

Taking my little girl to karate tomorrow which usually results in the two of us going out for lunch afterwards before I drop her back at her mums Sunday morning front wooden door to paint then I think an October barbel might be on the wish list from the Bedfordshire Ouse

Wee curry tonight and book a holiday (crap time with £ - E, but needs must!)...
Saturday get into workshop and empty/clear blast pot to try get it working again! think valves opened in wrong order, so jammed...

Then blast more of beetle chassis I'm working on.
If that goes well, then cut and butcher the new framehead bottom plate to try match the real one which needs replaced.

Replace corner of mate's stock car which he has managed to mangle!

Im stewing in my own anger, anger that has been created by my boss.. To try and cure the anger I am working my way through some beers and blasting some music (the cadillac three are quite soothing and worth checking out).

Not much sadly - pretty knackered and currently on penicillin for a bug/lurgy-type thing and the hospital want me to check my temp 4 x daily, if it gets elevated they'll admit me for IV antibiotics. Happily a/biotic seems to be working and temp is spot on normal atm.

Usually game of footy with the lads on Friday night, then tomorrow Costa in morning with friends followed by badminton in evening then onto a friends countryside property for a relax.

Sunday, bike ride and bangers and mash :P

I shall also be forgetting work for the weekend Jim, I don't want to hear the words "what's the duty cycle on that then?" For at least another 3 days.

Down in Barnetaple to see the boys, drop em off to Judo in. While then date night with wife, jungle curry latter on. No plans for Saturday day time but massive roast planned for the evening

Friday evening is my swimming lesson, a good hour or so doing lengths and various exercises then a bit of free swimming to relax for half an hour. I started lessons eighteen months ago, hardest part was turning up for the first lesson and doing the 'I am Keith and I am 49 and I cannot swim a single stroke'. Last week we were working on Butterfly which was a killer, I spent most of Saturday finding new aches in mussels I did not know I had.
This Saturday I have to drop my eldest off at Gatwick for a school classics trip to Grease, Sunday will be a trip to Camden Market.

Friday evening is my swimming lesson, a good hour or so doing lengths and various exercises then a bit of free swimming to relax for half an hour. I started lessons eighteen months ago, hardest part was turning up for the first lesson and doing the 'I am Keith and I am 49 and I cannot swim a single stroke'. Last week we were working on Butterfly which was a killer, I spent most of Saturday finding new aches in mussels I did not know I had.
This Saturday I have to drop my eldest off at Gatwick for a school classics trip to Grease, Sunday will be a trip to Camden Market.

well done on finally taking the plunge. However, having been a swimmer for most of my life I can honestly say the only 2 "styles" I have used is breast stroke and that normal "swimming a bit fast to get to the bar"... any other type of swimming is strictly reserved for the Olympics, which only happens every 4 years... so it seems a little pointless teaching the world to do the butterfly stroke, I once saw an old fella try to give it a go in Morocco, the whole of the resort thought he was dying. Some looked on, some went to help, I went to bar laughing my head off.

You are right Tom it is pointless as a way of getting about in the water or saving your life but as we can all swim in this class the instructor is treats it as an allround exercise session. He is a personal trainer and boxing / kick boxing trainer, keeps saying 'you are 6ft and have long arms you should take up boxing, that aint going to happen.

You are right Tom it is pointless as a way of getting about in the water or saving your life but as we can all swim in this class the instructor is treats it as an allround exercise session. He is a personal trainer and boxing / kick boxing trainer, keeps saying 'you are 6ft and have long arms you should take up boxing, that aint going to happen.

Boxing can have its uses, outside of the ring. unlike swimming.. when there is a bit of bother in Aldi over who gets the last compressor, no one is ever going to swim away and claim a victorious win...

There's no shame in admitting you can't do something mate, and well done for doing something about it

What sort of target shooting do you do?

I've got an aluminium toolbox to finish, some more stick practice to do and a trailer to restore.

It's a family owned commercial property we are renting out. It's in need of some modernisation hence the electrical work.

Field target but not in a serious way, I don't need another dear hobby and proper field target rifles are costly so it plinking on the fun range for me.

Nice work on the box, I need to brush up my skills soon, got lots of things that need making.

I've just finished reading 2 referrals for children who need to be moved urgently into foster care for various reasons, we have said yes to both but it's a waiting game now! With the possibility of various phonecall with the local authority social workers involved, apart from that not a lot hopefully, previous foster placement moved to a carer nearer home on Tuesday so recovering from 7 months of headache
