Hi All
I have a problem with my Kemppi, but I am putting it here, rather than in the Kemppi section as I don't think it is make related. But it could be.
So, my welds have suddenly gone dark and a bit porous, along with that sharp crackling noise that usually indicates lack of gas. Gas is flowing and I tried a fresh bottle, no change. I am welding up some gates out of 40x40x2 and 17mm tube. Use the same settings as normal, but no change on the results.
I looked in the torch, nothing odd there, fresh tip. Welds are a bit high, even in the corners, and are going to need a lot of grinding. I can hear the gas at the torch as usual and the bottle is set to 8/9 lts/min. I have ordered a peashooter, but I don't think it is the gas.
Any ideas? I would be gratefull for some help here.
It is a transformer based machine, but uses thyristers to regulate the current, so not in steps.
