Bearings....after double boosts findings.

I am trying to source some bearings but after Doubleboost found some made like cheese I am needing to be careful.

The bearings in question are for the front of an S14 200sx 2.0 litre 1998.

Now nissan list them complete with Hub only at insane prices. Has anyone had any dealings with replacements.

or any sites that I can look at for sizes or favourite bearing suppliers??

Go to a good industrial bearing supplier and specify rhp, skf, or fag bearings. Tell the counterhand out straight you don't want any chinese crap.

plenty of sites, but doesn't really matter which you choose, as long as you stay to the mainstream makers you should be alright. SKF and FAG are two I use regularly.


try you're local bearing shop, all you need is the bearing number usually a 4 digit code (6305 for example), type (2ZZ for example) and the clearance (C3 for example). If you don't know what the définitions mean, you can type in bearing définitions, and it's all there on Google..

I have two near me. my problem is I can't find the size I need to ask for and it would make my life easier to get bearing before stripping wheels.

Get cheap ones and harden them yourself...

they make great eccentrics even without machining

But it can be hard to sort the wheat from the chaff, and some places i have been to that do good stuff will try fob you off with sh1te if they think you don't know your stuff.

if you take the original with you, decent places will be able to trace it, or if you can't get it out, you'll need, inner diameter, outer diameter and thickness. from that you should be able to identify the principal code, then you need to look at is it sealed on both sides, one side, ball or roller, thrust bearings etc.

It's the one that comes up when searching. But then I get this

They don't sell the bearing g separately. And I am not sure the sizes match. But again I don't know what they are measuring.

from a quick search on Google, the timken comes up as

Bore Diameter (in):1.496 in.

Outer Diameter (in): 2.913 in.

Width (in): 1.417 in.

would that be about right?

That's the problem I don't know.

I can't seem to find much info that Nissan supply on the bearing sizes. I was hoping someone had some idea where to look.

I just searched on timken 514002B dimensions and it came up with the summit site, normally a bearing code is pretty precise

Have you taken it apart and tried to pressed the bearing out the housing I think you might find its all one thing could be wrong tho lol
