Thanks guys, I reckon it should be straightforward with care, but I've not done it before so I thought I'd ask as I don't want to wreck the guitar (even though it won't play in tune and can't keep time).
It's a Burns Marquee. Swapped it brand new a few years ago for a Baldwin Jazz and £100, still not sure if I did the right thing.
If I am not mistaken, it is a Fender copy and it has a bolt on maple neck. The idea is that you dont refret them, you replace the whole neck. Sorry mate.
Hmmmm was never a fan of strats, I had an Ibenez Floyd rose when I was a lad, the trems (always crap on a strat) necks, and the mother b...ucker pickups as we called em just made them play awesome, that and a bass collection....bass. Now play Goldstar banjos, the latest a Gibson RB-250 clone, by goldstar..... again the clever japs took a the RB-250 and mass produced it to play the way the gibo's should of, clever chaps....
I had the Ibanez Roadstar II and Artist. The Artist must have been the best guitar I have ever played. To think I sold it for a Strat......... Ah well I was a victim of the hype. Bit like Harley Davidson riders eh?![]()
What could be better than this??
Hand change, foot clutch, only one brake and no rear suspension, but it went all the way to Berlin and back. 1940 Harley WLA (mine should look like this some day)
