Made 3 of these today, very satisfying. I encourage anyone without a decent oil pot to make one, they are brilliant! Just need to drill a little vent/drain hole in the top and they will be complete.

My soldering is terrible and and everything is a bit wonky, but they are functional! Almost forgot to put the notches in the bottom of the copper tube before soldering.

You will have also seen them on doubleboosts and abom79's youtube channel.

How do you get the stuff out of the tin can??

I Poked it out with a screwdriver then washed with some scotchbrite and soapy water.

Old plumbers pipe flaring tool and a press.

Cutting oil.

As in you dip your drill in through the spout?

Keep a little brush in it for dabbing on whatevers required. Lathe, pillar drill, Mill etc.

The wide Base prevents it from it over and the design stops too much oil coming out if it does.

Fill with scented oil, add a wick and one novel candle.

Well I am still confused, I know what you are going to use them for but I don't know how you made them. Did you roll the wall off the can and make top and bottom from plate or was it a pre made can that you repurposed, and what is the purpose of the grooves in the copper pipe?

Thats the one. His has a much nicer flare on the top. I didnt have a big enough peice of bar to make one so the old plumbers tool worked fine.

It's functional, thats all that matters.

They will be good for camping, Mrs Vark does a lot for the Brownies, rainbows and girl guides. Mr Vark has to help.

The candles should keep you busy for a bit.
