Advice needed.Gas coming out non stop.

Hi Everyone. Just signed up.
Hope this is the right section.
I recently purchased a Miller Compactblu 243 3 phase mig welder. The problem I have at the minute is that the gas is coming out continuously. I have bought a new mig torch (parweld) because there was none available when buying the welder. there doesn't seem to be a gas solinoid in the welder, the gas pipe is going direct from the bottle to connector. Any advice on what I can look for to fix the problem? here are pics of the welder.

Hi, can't tell much from the photos but 3rd one has 2 wires that do not connect to anything (just above transformer), where do they go?

at a total guess id say to the solenoid valve that used to be there once upon a time.
i may be wrong tho.

Sorry I completely forgot about this thread. I havent really used the welder so it kinda got put to 1 side. Lol
Those wires dont go anywhere.
I cant seem to find the solenid dont even know where it should be on this machine. Can any point me in the direction of a manual for this machine please?

Put a volt meter across those two wires and see if they switch on and off with the torch trigger, you should see 12 or 24 volts dc.
If you get that then buy the corresponding voltage gas valve and fit it inline with the supply pipe. I should think that will sort you out.

does the gas flow when switched off or all the time? If it flows with the machine powered off then the valve itself is jammed open and it will need replacing or dismantling and cleaning. Sometimes you can unblock it by blasting air down the gas port on the euro socket while shorting the trigger pins with some wire to open the gas valve (disconnect the positive welding current feed to the euro first though to reduce the risk of a short circuit.
If the valve opens only when the set is powered then more than likely you have a sticky relay on the pcb, try giving anything that looks like a rectangular box on the pcb a gentle tap to see if it unsticks itself. It will need a new relay though sooner or later if it proves to be faulty.

Have you followed the hose from the front of your machine from where the euro torch plugs in?
You will have
1 big wire to the center
2 small wires to the trigger
1 pipe to the solenoid (you need to follow this pipe)

I am wondering if someone had bypassed the solenoid and run the hose straight through to the gas regulator.

Yes pipe goes from back of the connector right to the regulator. I dont know where the solenid is. I think it might be missing.

maybe the original solenoid valve packed up and the owner bypassed it.

and see if any voltage on those wires.

Ok a little update. I put a meter on those wires and it doesnt give a steady reading. So I cant determine the volts. If you look at pic no3. I followed the wires and they go back on to a board where there is a black block to the left of them that has 24v imprinted onto it. So I'm guessing thoses wires are to do with the solenid.

0v and then up and down when trigger is pulled

Sound like the pair you need for the solenoid then unless the voltage drops low or peaks high i wouldn't be to overly concerned at this stage about the variation of voltage, a solenoid will operate over a wide range.
