Cut a groove in the underside of the 'lid', stick an O-ring in there and you have a waterproof container. [Do 50p's rust.......? ]

There is a recess in the cap after the thread. Perfect for an O ring.

Bingo! Yep it's for cutting a two-start thread in one hit. Work pretty well but I still have a bit of tweaking. You have to grind the tools in a particular sequence to make it work right - plus it's bloody tricky to get the spacing cock-on but I've come up with a way of doing it.

you didnt get them right first time anyways pete...
takes fair patience to get them identical on a grinder like that, good work and a nice idea tho.
when all would be said and done would it not be nearly as quick to just cut them one at a time out of interest.

It's never gonna make me money unless I start working for £5 an hour It took me ages to clock up the milling slide and another lot of ages to clock up the vice but once it's away its away.

the joys of it eh..
dont worry so much about the time it takes to get all the ducks in a line, im the same here, i could spend half a day setting up something on the mill only to spend 10 mins doing the job.
and tramming the vice any time you move it out of the way for some job, you try to leave it alone as much as possible.
but in every job it pays off to have set it up right, i try to keep my tolerances tight as id always fear if i didnt id get sloppy over time, i practice that in every thing i do tbh as the same fear is in me.

Honestly though, it's getting on for toolmaker standard - you could have 10 times that variation easily in this application and not notice.

Striving to do the best you can with every job is the best way though.

Not good for business though.

One was lost when removing it apparently
So I took another and copied it.

I enjoyed making this tbh.
Not difficult but got me thinking about sequence and nice practice.
