right, ive comitted and bought a mig...

Due to unforseen circumstances i am no longer going for the welder offered by tom, even though his support is massively helpful and very very informative and i cant reccomend him enough for it.

i have just completed a transanction with cheltenham welding supplies for a CWS 160i and a 5kg reel of wire (on top of the included 1kg, so plenty to play with)

its beign fedex'd so possibly be here tomorrow, and my gas account with BOC should be sorted tomorrow too...

how long do we reckon the first bottle of argoshield is going to last me? lol

already got rods...i doubt i will be using the MMA side too much as i have the parweld xti160 already...will probably only ever use the stick side of it if im really stuck and have to weld something heavy when im away from home and only have the mig with me, will probably keep some rods in the bottom of it just incase though.

ive got some soapy water mixute that we use in work, it comes in pre mixed to a certain spec to detec really low pressure leaks on battery vent manifolds so brought some home sunday

there shall be one...ive struggled to find much in the way of reviews about them, but what i can find is all positive.

i will be welding a lot of 2mm when it arrives, and then plan on using it to make a BBQ so 3-4mm steel too, may play with the stik settings on the BBQ too to compare it to the parweld

the onyl real review i have found is on a channel on youtube 'ThePoloRick'...maybe he is a member here as he seems to do a lot of car welding...

he did an unboxing and an update video a few weeks later which both sing the praises of the unit

Nice one.
It seems like a really nice machine and very good value for money, you get a flowmeter with it and it goes right down to 20A so seems ideal for car/sheet work. I also like the wire feed function on it where you can feed the wire witrhout using gas, not essential but a nice-to-have.
Let us know how it compares with the rest of the sub 200A inverter MIGs in that price range.

the main reason i went for it was price, and not only because its cheap but because it came with reg and plumbing, mig torch, MMA stinger, earth clamp etc, plus a KG of wire and a load of tips too, where as some of the other units on offer like the GYS dont come with a reg or plumbing so that another 40 quid to get it running on proper wire...
