PC Annoyance and memory playing up

I have had this once before and was fairly sure it was a date issue on the pc and easily resolved.

It started on Yahoo and the pop up now appears on other sites as well and can't for the life of me remember what I did last time to sort it...is it a bios thing?

check your pc date and time as the bios battery could be failing therefore losing you your date and time scope

It's correct on the display and while fiddling I have found a time/date update button so give that a go..will see if that has sorted it

It's never unplugged, learnt my lesson the hard way

The bios battery is independent and is not recharged as it's normally a CR2032 flat button cell in a socket on the motherboard.

Yes, but most often the clock is kept ticking as long as the machine is plugged in - the lithium cell is only called into service when there is no other power source.

It can be but those cells are cheap and relatively easy to replace. Also a failing back-up cell can cause some strange faults as well as losing the clock on some pc's and laptops.

Go to Internet Options/Content and click the clear SSL state button.

Cheers..have done.

Since doing a time update it has happened once, would have been a lot more though.

Perhaps the SSL will be the final sort or will change the battery if not.

got a stack for my pc,s as well as the welding helmet as both take the same battery within them so did my bios on the pc,s and also fitted a new one into the auto mask as well
