Replacement castors for an engine crane.

I have a cheap 2 ton folding engine crane which has suffered much abuse over the years moving machines over rough ground.

Because of this the two castors on the ends of the folding legs are shot, the pressed steel components have twisted and distorted and all the balls have fallen out of the races.
The metal wheels themselves are fine.

I'm really struggling to find any suitable replacements that aren't huge.

Any ideas peeps?

The swivelling ones at the other end of mine have collapsed and it's now sporting a pair of supermarket trolley ones temporarily. I can't find any same as the metal wheels that were on it so I am looking for a bearing and some way to fit it in there to make them swivel again. The trolley ones are too tall so it will not stand unsupported with the legs folded up. The front ones are alright as they have a bush instead of bearings but they do need greasing sometimes.

It was a collection of loose balls in a race made up of two cups which have worn out so the balls fell out. I don't think it would swivel on a bush due to the weight and friction and I can't machine anything anyway so I am looking for some kind of flat roller bearing to replace the worn cups and ball bearings. Nothing I've seen so far looks up to the job.

That site is a good shout. They have some 100mm heavy duty castors in nylon rated at 600kgs each. I'd be surprised if that wasn't enough.

are the cast iron ones no good ?

They are just wheels, I need castors.
The cast iron castors listed have a lower load rating than the nylon ones.

Your missing the point. I need the castors because it's the steel body that has failed not the wheel.
The site you linked to listed castors with either a nylon or cast iron wheel in the size I need but the nylon items actually have the higher load rating. Which must be down to the wheel itself because the castor body is the same item.

ahh right I thought it was the wheel that failed I think someone else in the thread thought the same I should have read the opening post better
