Its the same process that they use to detoxify patients that have heavy metal poisoning.
They should listen to good ole Rock n Roll then, not that Metal stuff.

Oxallic acid would probably be a cleaner way as its a chelator too.
perfect place for double boost to show off his culinarySo cover the underside of the van with rhubarb? This thread is sounding more like a cookery programme
Well the leaves at least, they are high in oxalic acid.
I'm actually seriously considering painting the underneath of my van with it,
Just looked online.
Molasses is about 10 quid a gallon...
Im actually seriously considering painting the underneath of my van with it, leave it a week, then power wash off before undersealing.
Now if you had said that in a 'Nigella' sexy voice I would have been donning my apron as we speak. So gathering the info so far, the recipe is as follows
Mix some lemon juice, black pepper, parsley and cola into a couple of litres of molasses, Stir well.
Spread it onto some rhubarb leaves and apply these to the rusty car, or whole chassis. cover in cling film and heat gently for a period of time from a couple of days to a fortnight.
Remove and enjoy the results with a nice bottle of wine or some scotch.

Is oxalic acid side effect free? Its worth posing the question wider before starting to use it in earnest in potentially higher concentrations than normally seen commercially. So looking it up its called Chelation. Its chemistry, where an organic compound (Ligand) binds to an metal ion. Its the same process that they use to detoxify patients that have heavy metal poisoning.
