I hope this is the best place to post this.
Was wondering what the collective experience was with regards to wiring colour codes and standards for machine wiring?
A few hours of googling has come up with nothing consistent.
I have a upcoming project that require a re build, re wire with modifications and alterations.
At the moment the cables are either black or blue , this appears to be a random choice.
The only consistent standard i can find is:-
Mains Ac Power = Black.
From then on everything i read said something different.
Quite a few references say all neutrals in Blue.
That doesn't help with mixed voltage supplies.
Was thinking of going with.
Black = All Mains Power
Brown = 230v Ac Control
Blue = 230v Ac Control
Red = Remaining mixed low voltage AC. (under 110V)
Purple = 15v Dc
Light Blue = 24v Dc
Pink = 110v Ac
Grey = 110v Dc
Yellow = 5V Dc
White = Digital control low voltage.
All will be Tri Rated with numbered sleeves on each end.
Any suggestions welcome , trying to make sure future diagnostics are as easy as possible.
